Throwing a festive party will be popular with many Brits in the coming months, and a leading insurer is warning homeowners' to ensure they have adequate home insurance, in case of any accidents.
A new survey by NatWest Home Insurance reveals that two in ten homeowners choose not to take out home insurance, leaving themselves vulnerable if their property or possessions are damaged.
A quarter of those polled were unaware that if a guest injured themselves at their home, they could also be liable for the mishap.
With the average Brit throwing five parties each year, inviting around 120 visitors into their homes, home insurance should be a priority for most homeowners.
Bob Trinder, head of NatWest Insurance Services, said: 'Insuring your property against all eventualities is vital and it is concerning to see that over a fifth of Brits neglect to buy insurance at all.
'What's more, in the upcoming party season, a good home insurance policy will protect you against any accidents that happen both to your belongings and to any guests in your home.'
