A Tornado tore through a street in Birmingham yesterday, which has injured at least twenty people.
Residents in the Moseley and King's Heath areas watched in horror as their cars and homes were swept up by the storm and then tossed away again.
It is hoped that the storm victims have adequate house insurance to cover them against the damage to their buildings and belongings, as the vicious wind has devastated nearly a whole Birmingham street.
Insurers said that home insurance policy holders should have no problems claiming for the damage incurred on their homes, reports The Times, which highlights how invaluable home insurance is when freak incidents like these occur.
An eyewitness, Brian Cassidy, explained the enormous power of the storm. He said he watched a house being "twisted" upwards and added: "I could see grown men on a garage forecourt crying, holding their ears."
As the roofs of houses lay shattered on the ground, and the streets are littered with tiles and other debris, residents begin the task of rebuilding their shattered homes, with support from their insurance companies.
