Festive Brits plan to nip across the channel and spend £400 million on cheap booze for Christmas, claims a new report.
According to Lloyds TSB Insurance, two million consumers are gearing up to cross the channel and pick up stocks of festive goodies.
Around a third of Brits planning a booze cruise said that they would be spending at least £100 on drinks.
A similar amount claimed they would manage to spend £250, while eight per cent said they would be splurging £500 or more.
Looking after these purchases, which Brits have gone to so much trouble to buy, is of vital importance.
A good home insurance policy will mean that if you are burgled in the run up to Christmas, the additional cost of your alcohol and other festive treats will be covered.
Phil Loney, managing director, Lloyds TSB Insurance, said: 'With cheap drink available on the Continent it's no surprise so many Brits plan to cross the channel to stock up on booze for the festive season.'
Christmas is an attractive time of year for burglars, and if your house is laden down with luxuries, make sure you protect them with home insurance.
