One in eight homeowners in Scotland has sustained an injury while moving house, the latest survey from Clydesdale Bank has found.
Injuries ranged from dropping pianos on feet to dropping wardrobes down flights of stairs, reports PA News.
Not only are these accidents painful to the body but they can also be painful to the wallet. Replacing household items can run into thousands of pounds and that's not to mention the sentimental loss of treasured furniture.
As a result, the findings stress the great importance of good household cover for your belongings.
The report found that ten per cent of people made themselves ill with the stress of moving home, while one in eight vowed that they would never move again.
When you're dealing with the stress of signing documents and unpacking furniture, it can be a load off your mind to know that your household items are all insured against breakage or loss.
And that applies even if you are one of the 68 per cent of people who moved less than 15 miles from home.
Steve Reid, general manager for retail banking at Clydesdale Bank pointed to one section of the report, commenting it was "interesting" that the 12 per cent of Scots who injured themselves was double the amount of their British counterparts.
