New type of home insurance launched

esure.com has today announced a new type of home insurance, to protect homes against the cost of pest infestation.

The insurer claims that 11 per cent of households have experienced problems with pests over the last year, suggesting there is a need for home insurance for this type of problem.

It points out that the pest control industry is unregulated, and taking out this type of cover with esure.com means that in the event of a claim, you will be referred to a reputable specialist, who should deal with your claim quickly and efficiently.

Starting from just £1.50 per month, the service also includes expert advice on how to prevent instances of infestation.

With the cost of eradicating rodents from the home between £95 and £150 and wasp or hornet nest removal anything between £35 and £100, this type of cover can be a valuable addition to your home insurance policy.
