Women named Joy experience more break-ins, accidents and water leaks in the home than any other person, a survey by Churchill Insurance has revealed.
The insurance firm analysed 180,000 home insurance policies and established the names most commonly associated with security, accident and other issues for which people make home insurance claims.
Joys make the most claims against their home insurance policies, the Churchill study reveals, while the man's name most associated with calamities and security breaches in the home is Sean.
At the other end of the scale, Fredericks, Ruths and Tims have the most joy when it comes to their homes and they are the names least likely to be associated with frequent home insurance claims.
However, Dorothys seem to be the biggest spenders, with the most expensive disasters occurring in their homes. Nigels, Phillips and Chrises also experience costly mishaps.
"Our data does show that some names suffer much worse than others, but location, age and type of home are often better indicators," Churchill’s head of home insurance, Martin Scott, said.
"Our stats show that 25-29 year olds, those living in the North East and end of terrace homes are the most prevalent sufferers overall," he added.
